CSD's Character Races

This is a list of sentient races that appear in CSD’s storylines. It would be a good idea to familiarize yourself with these, as entries on this site will mention these races a lot.

Some Notes:

The icons next to the race names show which storylines have confirmed use of that race. Currently the eye symbol of Silver and Gray represents all three Ecliptic Angels stories (Elehura, Silver and Gray, and Seraph Squadron).

Aeon character races: If Aeon (or a sequel… aren’t we thinking way ahead) were to give the opportunity to choose different races for the player’s character, the ones designated as a ‘character race’ would be one of the selections. To simplify things, they have to be bipedal so they can share common animations, outfits, etc.

The names of the Ecliptic Angels change through history. The ones listed are what they were called during Silver and Gray.

Slyvette from Silver and Gray has volunteered to be transformed into representations of many of the races.

Oh, uh, well, on to the list!

Human

Humans, of which the reader of this is more than likely a member, are the base race to which all others shall be compared.
Humans are one of the ‘Seven Races’ in the Ecliptic Angels universe, and are represented by the Leader of the Ecliptic Angels, Soceri Anjadaes (Weles).
Humans are one of the character races in Aeon.
Humans are the only race appearing in Torn Space.
Humans play a mostly antagonistic role in Seraphelines.

Naryyd

Naryyd are humanoid beings, and are very similar to humans, though they lack gender, have gray skin, and are near-immortal. They appear in the Heart of Dragons as the creators of the Agwilican and Akelian races. They have since all passed away by the opening of the story.

Agwil

Agwils could be considered a form of ‘Western Dragons’, large winged beings with somewhat reptilian features. However, they do not have scales and don’t naturally breathe fire like many traditional depictions. They are warm-blooded, in ways more similar to mammals than reptiles or amphibians.
They have an innate ability to disrupt the effect of gravity, which allows them to fly, as the power of their wings alone would not be enough to get them airborne.
Agwils and their relatives (Agwilican, Akelian, Prerart) are herbivores.
Agwils and their relatives share a gender-linked trait: females have light markings on their lower bodies. For the Agwils and Prerarts, this is usually the only way to tell the genders apart.
They have two thumbs on opposite sides of their hands, making their hands relatively symmetrical. They also lay eggs.
Agwils are the titular race of The Heart of Dragons (Che Sorus se Agwilah in the Agwil-Naryn language). However, they are not the focus of the story. Their ‘children’, the Agwilicans and Akelians, are instead.
Agwils are one of the ‘Seven Races’ in the Ecliptic Angels universe, and are represented by the Angel of Blades, Tatyakore Vacha.
Agwils appear in Aeon as ungendered planar natives, and are many times larger than Agwils in other stories. One of the leaders of the Planar Council is an Agwil named Tatyakore Kakusul (hmm... Tatyakore is a popular Agwil name).

Agwilican

Agwilicans can be considered anthropomorphic Agwil. They have skin, tail, wings, feet, and face similar to an Agwil, but the rest of their bodies resemble Humans/Naryyd.
In The Heart of Dragons, the Agwilicans are in fact a mixing of the humanoid Naryyd and the Agwil. They are the race most central to the story. The three main characters are all Agwilicans.
Agwilicans are one of the ‘Seven Races’ in the Ecliptic Angels universe, and are represented by the Angel of Fire, Seros Salmandano.
Agwilicans are one of the character races in Aeon.

Akelian

Akelians are very similar to Agwilicans. The two races mostly possess the same traits, except that Akelians have hair and gray skin. In The Heart of Dragons, the similarity is due to the their common origin: being created by the Naryyd with the help of the Agwil.
Akelians are one of the ‘Seven Races’ in the Ecliptic Angels universe, and are represented by the Angel of Water, Pereal Kerrow.
Akelians are one of the character races in Aeon.

Prerart

Prerarts are somewhat like miniature, flightless versions of Agwils. Some have vestigal wings. Like their larger cousins, they are egg-layers. They are famed for being extremely cute.
In The Heart of Dragons, legends say that Prerarts were originally Agwil who were punished for their arrogance, and many of them eventually accepted and embraced their new forms.
Originally, Prararts all had wings, but over the course of time, new Prerarts were born without them. At the opening of the Heart of Dragons, winged Prerarts are in the minority.

Pritar

Pritars are cat-like beings. They tend to be more carnivorous than humans, and usually have a strong 'hunter's instinct' in both genders.
In some stories there are distinct sub-races with different color schemes.
  • Tabal – brown fur and hair, the most common type (pictured)
  • Lutenral – light gray fur, white spots, and black hair; sometimes have unusual ears
  • Kattal – darker gray fur, blonde hair
  • Plummal – Pritar equivalent of redheads
  • Pilal – black fur with white spots, dark hair
  • Nodejal - white fur, light blonde hair
  • Rhofal - Red-orange fur, brown hair
Pritar are one of the ‘Seven Races’ in the Ecliptic Angels universe, and are represented by the Angel of Lightning, Slyvette Kattamatrix
Pritar are the main race in Seraphelines. They have to deal with hostilities from both the Human Kaudlin Empire and the undead Hessai.
Pritar are one of the character races in Aeon of the Universal Plane. The main characters, Aeon and Cheles Lumarole, are rare Rhofal Pritars.

Felcae

Felcae are the tallest of the bipedal races. It is not uncommon to see Felcaeans breaking two meters in height, and that's not counting the horns.
Felcae are one of the ‘Seven Races’ in the Ecliptic Angels universe, and are represented by the Angel of Wind, Myrian Skytamer.
Felcae exist on the Heart of Dragons world, but they don’t have any relevance to the story. They may have an important role in the future.
Felcae are one of the character races in Aeon.

Antrean

Antreans appear in the Ecliptic Angels universe as the Gray Army. In this instance, they are magically created servants to Soceri Antreades. They have four arms, and don't eat, sleep, or feel pain.
In Aeon, the Antreans don't have the extra pair of limbs, and they also come in male and female versions. Both genders tend to be on the short and muscular side.

Grepir

Grepir are bird-like people that appear in the Ecliptic Angels storyline. On average, they are the smallest of the bipedal races. They are one of the ‘Seven Races’ and are represented by Aeda Ata, the Ecliptic of Stone.

Tanteru

Tanteru are ungendered planar natives that appear in Aeon. One of the leaders of the Planar Council is a Tanteru.

Great Cat

Great cats, essentially large sentient felines, appear in Aeon.

Hessai

The Hessai are demonic forces that show up in various stories.
In The Heart of Dragons, Hessai is a contraction of hesil se sai, creature of fear. Numerous non-living monsters are called Hessai.
In Seraphelines, the Hessai are demons that take over dead bodies, and are the primary antagonist. The titular group’s expertise is slaying the Hessai.
The term Hessai is used in the Ecliptic Angels series to describe demonic forces such as the biggest one of all, the Demon King of Paradise, or Soceri Antreades.
Hessai appear in Aeon as a collection of monsters. The different types have names like 'Hessai Gwinot' or 'Hessai Thropale'.
